Conversion examples

  • 4.0 scale: (3.2 GPA ÷ 4) × 100 = 80% as a proportional estimate.
  • 10-point scale: (8 GPA ÷ 10) × 100 = 80% as a proportional estimate.

Before using the result

A GPA scale is its maximum grade-point value, not a conversion multiplier. A proportional estimate cannot recover original marks from letter grades or credit-weighted averages. Your university may use grade bands or another rule. For an application, follow the receiving institution's instructions and use your transcript when requested.
